Upsilon Nu Chi Chapter
The purpose of the Upsilon Nu Chi Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary shall be to provide recognition for those individuals who have contributed outstanding service and who have provided important leadership in the advancement of the residence hall system of UNC. NRHH will provide a means by which they can continue to use these qualities in developing other leaders and to serve as a resource group to the rest of the University.
As per NRHH NACURH Policy, the Upsilon Nu Chi Chapter shall consist of the top one percent of the residence hall population selected by NRHH and the President of NRHH which is currently 37 members. Meetings occur every Monday at 5:30 pm, non-members are allowed to attend.
NRHH emphasizes the 4 pillars:leadership, service, scholastics, and recognition. As an organization we focus on upholding thesepillars and representing NRHH to the best of our abilities.
The official colors of NRHH are blue and white. The blue symbolizes loyalty: loyalty to purpose and idea. The white signifies a blank page: a page on which a student writes the successes and experiences that fill their days in the residence halls and on campus.
The symbol for NRHH is that of a diamond surrounding the letters of the organization, and the three interconnected links, the chain of leadership. The diamond, the world's most precious gem, signifies the value and beauty one finds in the residence halls and on campus experience.
The first chain of the link represents caring. Leaders are people who care. They are concerned about themselves and others, and are committed to making things better.
The second link signifies dedication. Part of a leader's commitment is the dedication to cause which they display. Dedication is an important part of the involvement required to be truly effective.
The third link represents participation. True leaders participate fully in their academic pursuits, their friendships, their activities, and their lives. Leaders don't sit on the sidelines, but are competent team players.
Together the unbroken chain symbolizes the membership of NRHH. As leaders we are interconnected as caring and dedicated participants in the Residence Hall System.
NRHH encourages those who wish to use the logos to handle them in a way that represents NRHH and the schools that are a part of the organization.
