Researchers seek international students from China

Description: The purpose of our study is to understand how Chinese international student make meaning of the retention at the University of Northern Colorado. This research would attempt to highlight and centralize the voices of Chinese international students to create actionable change for the professionals who work with them.

Participant Requirements: We are recruiting students who are over the age of 18, currently enrolled UNC students (undergraduate or graduate), identified by the institution as international students, and country of origin is China

 Time Commitment: September 1, 2017 through December 1, 2017. Data collection will include two individual interviews. Participants will be asked to take pictures that relate to support systems, retention efforts, and other experience as Chinese international students.

Researcher seeks Transgender and/or Nonbinary students for Title IX Study

Description: The purpose of this study is to centralize the experiences of transgender and/or nonbinary college students who have filed a Title IX complaint on campus and allow them to narrate their own experiences. The study seeks to understand, with the students, their experiences navigating through Title IX and empower them to identify actionable assessment of their experiences with the Title IX reporting process. Data collection will include two individual interviews. Participants will be asked to take pictures that relate to their understanding of their experiences relating to the Title IX reporting process between the first and second interview. The study will run from October 6, 2017 through December 1, 2017. 

Participant Requirements: (1) UNC student (graduate or undergraduate); (2) Identify as transgender and/or nonbinary; and (3) have submitted a Title IX complaint while enrolled at UNC 

Time Commitment & Compensation: The two interviews will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes. The participant will also take photos between the first and second interview. Participants will receive a professionally printed (full size: 8.5"x11") and framed photo of their choosing from the photos they took for the study.

Researcher seeks all students at UNC under the age of 25

Description: This study examines participant characteristics that contribute to body image. Study will run from August 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017.

Participant Requirements: UNC students, 25 years or younger

Time Commitment & Compensation: The survey will take approximately 25-40 minutes and be taken online using a secure Qualtrics link sent through email. Participants who complete the survey will have the opportunity to enter into a drawing for a $25 Visa gift card.

Researcher seeks all UNC staff and faculty members for body fat percentage study

Description: The purpose of this study is to research the perception that faculty and staff have of their body image based on their perceived body composition compared to their actual composition. Participants will be asked to complete 3 questionnaires and then have their body composition tested using the BODPOD. Sessions last less than 30 minutes. The study will run from September 25, 2017 through December 16, 2017.

Participant Requirements: All full time or part-time UNC faculty and staff may participate except for graduate assistants. 

Time Commitment & Compensation: Sessions take less than 30 minutes and you will receive a free body fat percentage test results from participating.
