The Research Advisory Council (RAC)

The Research Advisory Council (RAC) serves as an advisory body to the Assistant Vice President for Research (AVPR)  and provides insight and counsel on research and scholarly activity at the University.

More specifically, the Council will:

  • Advise the AVPR on areas of research, scholarly and creative work that should be the target of University investment in time, resources and personnel;
  • Advise on ways and means to support faculty research either through direct support programs, policy changes or other means; and
  • Foster a culture of excellence in scholarship and creative works throughout the University.

The Council will consist of about a dozen members nominated and selected by the Deans and Faculty Senate for their record of outstanding scholarship in their respective fields. Each member shall serve for a period of two (2) years with potential reappointment for one additional term.

Members will be selected Fall 2009.
