Withdrawal from Courses

Withdrawing from Individual Courses

For individual courses, including short courses and workshops, the withdrawal deadline occurs at 50% of the class time. You may withdraw from individual classes by web or in-person thru Nov. 19. Permission of the instructor is not required. Varsity athletes will need a signature from the Athletic Office to withdraw. Withdrawn classes will appear on the transcript with an indicator of "W" but will not affect your GPA. Withdrawn classes remain calculated in your tuition and fees. To withdraw from a correspondence course (independent study) contact the Office of Extended Studies at 970-351-2944.

Complete Withdrawal from the Semester

The last day to drop all classes without charges is the second day of the semester. When applicable, you will also pay the full new enrollment fee ($145) and housing deposit ($250). After the Drop Deadline, no changes in tuition and fees will occur unless you totally withdraw from all classes. In this instance, you are assessed a percentage of the tuition and fee costs based on the time of withdrawal.

Please note that students request a total withdraw from the Registrar's Office, Carter Hall 3002, 970-351-2231.

Note: 100% of non-refundable fees will be assessed. These fees include academic program fees, technology fees, course fees, online fees International Application fee and Off-Campus Program Delivery fee. Some federally funded aid programs mandate a different withdrawal computation.

All amounts owed to the University are due and payable as of the date of the withdrawal. Only charges for tuition, general student service fees, room and board may be prorated based on the date of withdrawal. All other charges are not pro-rated or refunded.
