Grades

The University of Northern Colorado operates on a 4.00 grade point system.

To compute a grade point average, first remove all basic skills courses (courses numbered 001-099) and all courses that carry the grades: S, U, W, UW, NR , I, NC, and grades with a period or asterick(s). Multiply the credit hours for each remaining course by the grade point value of the grade. Total the credit hours and grade points and then divide the grade points by the credit hours. Grade point averages are calculated to 3 decimal points and displayed as two decimal points rounded on academic transcripts and degree evaluations.

For example:

Grade
Credit
Points
GPA
A = 4.000
3
3 x 4.0 = 12.0

B- = 2.667
5
2.667 x 5.0 = 13.335

C+ = 2.334
3
2.334 x 3 = 7.002

I = N/A
N/A

Total
11
32.337
32.337/11 = 2.939

The URSA Student tab also offers a GPA predictor which can be used to evaluate the impact of the following semester's grades.
