  1. What do I do if I have been admitted but decide not to attend?
  2. What do I do if I decide not to return next semester?
    • You will need to contact the Office of the Registrar to notify us of your intent to not return and to have any future registration dropped. You may reach us at 970-351-2231 or registrar@unco.edu. It is your responsibility to have these courses dropped, do not assume you will be dropped for non-attendance.
    • If you are transferring to another school and have financial aid, please make sure you update FASFA with the new school code.
  3. How do I withdraw from one or more classes but not my entire schedule?
  4. How do I withdraw from all of my classes during the semester?
    • If you need to completely withdraw from the current semester, whether you are returning or not, you must contact the Office of the Registrar to begin this process. You may reach us at 970-351-2231 or registrar@unco.edu.
    • If you do not contact our office and complete the withdrawal process, you will receive failing grades in all courses not completed and will be responsible for full tuition and fees.
  5. How does withdrawing affect my academic record?
    • You will receive a grade of "W" on your transcripts for any courses not completed. Completed courses will retain the original grade submitted by the instructor.
    • If you are planning to return, we would suggest you talk with your advisor regarding advising for the future semester.
  6. How will a withdrawal affect my bill for tuition and fees?
    • Your tuition and fees may be adjusted depending on the date of your withdrawal. The date of withdrawal is the date on which you contact the Office of the Registrar to formally withdraw from the University.
    • For specific charge percentages, please see the University Withdrawal page.
  7. How does withdrawing affect my financial aid?
    • If you have financial aid (scholarships, loans, grants), you must contact the Office of Financial Aid to find out how withdrawing affects your current and future aid and repayment of loans. They may be reached at 970-351-2502 or ofa@unco.edu.
  8. How do I check out of University Housing?
  9. How do I return to UNC?
    • You will remain an active student for up to one year of no registration. If you want to return during this time, please contact your advisor to receive advising and your PIN number.
    • If you want to return after the year, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 970-351-2231 to reactivate your student status.
  10. After withdrawing, can I still use the University facilities?
    • Once you have withdrawn from the University, you are not longer eligible to use the facilities.
