School Incentives

We invite your school to get involved in – start by sending teachers and librarians to our Essentials Exploration workshops.  This five-workshop series is provided free to educators primarily in rural and outlying areas of the Colorado.  In addition to a wealth of resources and teaching strategies, you will receive:

  • Certificate showing CDE/continuing education hours
  • Optional graduate credit through UNC – you can register at the first class.

You can maximize the impact of primary sources on your students and school environment by including administrators and community members as well.

We ask that you involve an administrator to ensure this program has the potential for school-wide impact.  We also encourage participation by parents or community members.  Examples of these community participants have included public librarians, former or current school board members or local historical society leaders.  These individuals are encouraged to attend both face to face (onsite) sessions and to log into the online workshops as often as possible.

When three or more individuals from your school complete the five workshops in the Essentials Exploration series (preferably two teachers and a media specialist at minimum), you can earn professional and technology resources, including:

  • materials related to primary sources for your school’s professional library
  • flash drives
  • external storage drives
  • small color printers
  • digital microphones/headphone sets

Because our goal is to maximize the effective use of primary sources throughout the school, our program is designed to reward school participation and encourage teacher leadership as you share what you have learned with others.  So, invite your colleagues and contact us to get started.  970-351-1555
