UNC PD welcomes you to our beautiful campus and city.
Our officers are part of the campus community. Whether you're at a residence hall, in an academic building or out and about on campus, you're likely to cross paths with us at all hours.
Safety is everyone's business here. You can do your part by remembering to:
- Lock the doors on your car, residence hall, apartment or office.
- Keep valuables secured and out of sight.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Walk with a friend.
- Follow the rules and laws of the community.
- Immediately report anything suspicious.
Providing a safe and secure campus is our number one priority. Officers are on foot, bicycle and vehicle patrols in and around the campus 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Municipal and State Laws are enforced along with University Regulations. We also offer many crime prevention programs to our campus community.
We're glad to have you as a partner in keeping our community safe and enjoyable.
Beware of Rental Housing Scams
If you're looking for a place to live off-campus, the University Police Department and Off-Campus Life remind students to be aware of possible rental scams that are all too common and being reported. Tips for making sure you're dealing with a reputable person and to help ensure you don't become a victim of this type of fraud can be found on Off-Campus Life's website.
