History of Modern Philosophy -- Spring, 2001

Purpose of Course

In the next 15 weeks, we will focus on some of the main philosophical developments in Europe during the modern period. We also will explore some "not so familiar" readings from this period, namely, writings by "women philosophers."

Grades

You will be evaluated on the basis of class participation, including presentations and homework (100 points), and two examinations (100 points each).

Course Schedule

Readings will be assigned in class.
Exam #1: Thursday, March 8.
March 19-23: Spring Break.
Final Exam: Thursday, Mary 10, 10:45-1:15.
