Areas of special interest: Wittgenstein studies, history of philosophy, metaphysics, ethics, and the philosophy of mind.
A member of the UNC faculty since 1983, Prof. Temkin regularly teaches our regular ethics course as well as our course in the history of modern philosophy. In recent years, he has also taught courses on Eastern philosophy, analytic philosophy, and the philosophy of mind.
He also serves as the program area coordinator for Philosophy.
Prof. Temkin has a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin.
