As of 2012, The Affordable Care Act requires employers to report the cost of coverage under an employer-sponsored group health plan. This means that you will see an amount in box 12DD on your W2 if you have Medical, Dental, or Vision plans with UNC. This amount is the sum of the employee and employer costs of your coverage. For more information on this law, please visit http://www.irs.gov/.
Note-Payroll will still provide official W-2’s to those who still prefer to get their W2’s in the mail. These will be mailed out the week of January 21st, 2013.
