Alternative Transportation

Blue Cruiser Bike Program

UNC has a free campus bike program that is offered through the Department of Campus Recreation. Through this program you can rent a bike for free with your student ID for a week at a time. The campus rec center is offering this program to offer an affordable and environmentally sustainable alternative to driving on campus.

If you are interested in checking out a bike, check out the Outdoor Pursuits Bike Program.

Boomerang Shuttle ~ Bear Bus

The Boomerang Shuttle runs each day, Monday - Friday, from 10th Ave in front of Gunter Hall to the bus stop on the sidewalk, just west  of Michener Library. The buses run continuously from one stop to the other, beginning just before 8am and ending in the early afternoon. The shuttle is paid for by student fees. Just show your UNC ID and you’re good to go! Your Student ID also lets you ride all around town on the Greeley Evans Transit buses without additional costs. Check it out and let your student reps hear your thoughts on the service.

Be advised: The Boomerang Shuttle DOES NOT travel during summer break.
