NEH Summer Stipends for 2015

The National Endowment for the Humanities has announced a deadline of September 30, 2014, for submission of applications for Summer Stipend support.

Summer Stipends support individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both.

Recipients usually produce articles, monographs, books, digital materials, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly resources.

Summer Stipends provide $6,000 for two consecutive months of full-time research and writing on projects at any stage of development.

Although applications are submitted by, and stipends awarded to, individuals and not to the university, full-time faculty members must be nominated by the university in order to be considered by the NEH. UNC may nominate only two applicants, so uses an internal procedure to determine the nominees.
