PROVOST FUND FOR SCHOLARSHIP & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT The Provost Fund for Scholarship and Professional Development was established by Provost Abe Harraf during his first year at UNC. The primary goal is to encourage faculty scholarship and professional activity at all levels of expertise in the faculty's efforts to develop as teachers, researchers, scholars and artists. Funded activities are intended to support the mission and strategic goals of the university and the colleges. The Fund supports projects in two award categories - Research, Dissemination and Faculty Development Awards and Provost Awards for Travel. The Faculty Research and Publication Board (FRPB) is charged with administering this program with support from the Office of Sponsored Programs. Provost Fund grants are awarded several times each year through a competitive proposal process in which the members of the FRPB review proposals and select projects for funding. Dates for submission of proposals | Provost Awards for Travel | | Fall Competition Winter Competition Spring Competition | - 2nd Friday in September - 2nd Friday in February - 2nd Friday in April | | Research, Dissemination and Faculty Development Awards | | Fall Competition Spring Competition | - 4th Friday in October - 4th Friday in March |
