Sponsored Programs Policies & Procedures When the University accepts grant funding from external sponsors, it does so under obligation to comply with the terms and conditions in the award documents. Awards, whether grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements, may cite particular laws, regulations, policies, and procedural requirements. UNC has implemented policies and procedures to ensure that the principal investigator and the University are protected, and that research and scholarly activities are conducted ethically and in compliance with sponsors' requirements. when new and revised documents have been approved.
