Freshman Students

All incoming freshman students are required to attend an in-person Orientation. The two-day experience immerses students in the academic and social life of UNC. You will attend sessions and participate in activities. At the end of the experience, you will register for your classes in a group setting. Once logged in to the orientation system, you will complete a Pre-Orientation prior to selecting a date. Expect to spend about one-hour total in the orientation system.

Transfer and Non-Traditional students are also encouraged to attend the optional four-hour in-person Transfer & Non-Traditional Welcome to learn more about life at UNC, discover resources and ways to get involved, and to be advised (which may be the most convenient option). Expect to spend about one-hour total in the orientation system.
