Moving in to your Residence Hall
Because you are attending this Orientation session, you will be able to move into your assigned residence hall as early as Monday, August 19, 1:00-5:00pm (other new residents do not move in until August 22). You do not need to make any special arrangements as Orientation will be providing Housing and Residential Education a list of students who are scheduled to attend this session. Please note that you will not be able to move in before 1:00pm on Monday.
** If you choose to move in before Orientation, you will be billed $25 per night to your student account. Orientation will cover the cost to stay in your room on Wednesday, August 21 but you will be billed for Monday and Tuesday night if you choose to move in early.
If you are moving on campus on August 19, plan to arrive before 1:00pm and go to the University Center (2nd floor) to get your UNC ID (you will need your Bear Number). This will allow you access into your residence hall and room. Otherwise, you can get your ID during Orientation.
If you choose to move in after the Orientation session, you may do so 3:00-5:00pm on Wednesday, August 21. You will be able to receive your UNC ID card during Orientation. There is no additional cost to move in on Wednesday.

** If you are not living on campus in the fall, you must make your own overnight arrangements during Orientation.
Parking
If have you purchased your parking pass (through URSA beginning August 1, 2013), you may pick that up in Parking Service's office 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday or the weekend of August 24-25, 11am-3pm. Parking will not be enforced the week of August 19-23 but will begin Monday, August 26.
** If you will not register for classes until Orientation, you cannot purchase your pass until after registering and pick it up that weekend.
Session check-in
You may check-in to Orientation in the University Center between 8:30am and 9:15am. Parents of freshman students will receive Parent Orientation information at the check-in table with the student.
Online pre-registration for Parent Orientation is available until Wednesday, August 14.
Meals
August 19: All meals on your own. Dining Services will be open on campus for cash purchases.
August 20: Breakfast is on your own; Dining Services will be open on campus for cash purchases. Lunch and dinner are provided to students and parents.
August 21: Breakfast and lunch are provided to students and parents; dinner is on your own; Dining Services will be open on campus for cash purchases.
August 22: Breakfast and lunch are on your own; Dining Services will be open on campus for cash purchases. Students' meal plan begins at dinner.
Lodging for parents and other guests
For this session, parents and guests will not be able to stay on campus but may refer to our local hotel listings for lodging information.
