I'm First Workshop
Congratulations on your acceptance into the University of Northern Colorado! As a first-generation college student, you are now pursuing an opportunity that will forever change the path towards your future. By choosing this path, you will take on the unique responsibility of being the first in your family to earn a bachelor’s degree and we at UNC could not be more excited.
With that said, we are pleased to invite you and your family to our new “I’m First” orientation program dedicated to your commitment as a first-generation college student. We hope you can join us in celebrating this accomplishment as UNC is devoted to providing you with information necessary for a successful transition into college life.
Parents and other family members are welcome to join students at no cost! Online registration for the full Parent Orientation program following the Workshop is encouraged.
8:00-8:30am: Check-In at the University Center
Students and parents will check-in together. Students will also check in for the evening stay in Wiebking Hall and Orientation staff will bring overnight bags to Wiebking for you.
8:30-8:40am: Welcome Session
Students - Small Group Activity with Orientation Leader
Parents - College Student Support System
9:15-9:50am: College Life
9:50-10:20am: Financing College Basics
10:20-10:25am: Wrap-Up Before Orientation
New Student Orientation and Parent Orientation will begin at 10:30am in the University Center.
