New Student Orientation

Welcome to the University of Northern Colorado!  We are pleased that you have selected our institution to pursue your educational goals.  UNC offers New Student Orientation for all freshmen, transfer students, and their family and guests.

Purpose of Orientation

Orientation to any university is a process. The New Student Orientation program at UNC is the first step to the orientation process. The entire campus participates in New Student Orientation and gives students the foundation for a successful first year. Our goal is, also, to inform parents about the university and include them in their students' educational journey.

Mission

The Office of Academic Support and Advising is committed to student success through partnerships with campus and student communities. ASA provides academic and personal growth opportunities for a diverse student body through a variety of customized support services that meet individual needs. ASA values and promotes honesty, trust, respect, integrity, and responsibility.

New Student Orientation coordinates the collective efforts of the campus community in providing services to support freshmen, transfer students, parents and family members in their transition to the University of Northern Colorado and the City of Greeley and upholds the Academic Support and Advising Mission by:

  • Introducing the rich history and traditions at UNC;
  • Informing participants of policies, procedures, requirements and academic expectations at UNC;
  • Providing opportunities to interact with faculty, staff, and other UNC students;
  • Integrating participants into UNC’s intellectual, cultural, and social climate;
  • Creating a friendly and welcoming environment committed to the growth and development of all students.
