Application Requirements

NSE application forms are available at the NSE office located in the Student Activities department of the UC. You must include with your application:

• A nonrefundable application fee of $150
• An official transcript sent from UNC
• Answers to the three short-answer essay questions provided in the application (used if you are competing against other students for a position)
• An interview with the NSE coordinator
• A reference form filled out by
  • 1) academic advisor
  • 2) faculty/staff member from UNC
  • 3) one other person (preferably parent or guardian)

This is a big decision and we want to be sure that you are fully informed of the experience before you take the steps to leave. There should be a lot of thought put into deciding where to go. For example, if you plan on attending Graduate school, will school of choice be beneficial for your record? Can you afford the experience? Are you supported in the decision by friends and family? We are here to assist you in any way that we can to make the entire experience a great one.
