On behalf of the faculty, staff and students, I'd like to welcome you to the website of the Science Education Programs at the University of Northern Colorado. Our program was formed in the summer of 2014 to provide coordination of all science teaching courses for six programs which include Early Childhood, Elementary, Secondary, Elementary Graduate Licensure, Secondary Graduate Licensure and the innovative partnership between the Colorado School of Mines and UNC for preparing Math and Science Secondary teachers. We are also home to the GIDP: Science Education Master's Degree.
I invite you to explore this website to learn more about the people and activities that make up these programs. Through these pages students can examine opportunities to become a science teachers as well as opportunities for practicing teachers to earn an advanced degree. THis site also contains resources for teachers including write ups from the famous 30 Demos in 50 Minutes started by Dr. Courtney Willis.
Whether you are a prospective or current student, a faculty or staff member, alumnus or other visitor, I hope that you will find the information contained here useful. Thank you for visiting the Science Education website.
Wendy K. Adams, Director
