I have dual interests in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences: I am a geologist by training, having studied carbon isotopes in organic matter and cave deposits (speleothems), but I am most notable interested in earth science education. My real passion is interdisciplinary education and the development of field-based experiences for students who are new to the subject of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. I currently serve as the Editor for Technology for the Journal of Geoscience Education. In that capacity, I also serve of the executive committee for the National Association of Geoscience Teachers. I am also a recipient of the Geological Society of America's Biggs Award, GSA's highest honor for excellence in Earth Science teaching. I am happy to have served on 5 masters committees, having supervised 3 of them relating to geoscience education. Other interests of mine include fluvial processes as the relate to gradient, volume, constriction and obstruction (whitewater) and emergency medicine.
