The mission of the UNC GIDP: Science Education Master of Arts Degree Program is to enhance teachers science pedagogical content knowledge while providing an opportunity for the teacher to investigate a research question of their choosing in their own classroom by providing a fully online masters degree to practicing teachers.
Elementary Science Education Program Mission
The mission of the UNC Elementary Science Education Program is to prepare pre-service teachers to be effective and responsible educators of standards-based K-^ science. Our program will engage, inspire and excite pre-service teachers about science through the required elementary science content and methods courses offered to undergraduate and graduate future elementary teachers at UNC.

The mission of the UNC Secondary Science Education Program is to prepare future teachers to be effective and responsible 7-12 science educators. Our program will engage, inspire and excite future teachers about science through the required courses offered to undergraduate and post-baccalaureate future secondary teachers at UNC.
The mission of the Teacher Education Alliance, Mines (The Colorado School of Mines) - UNC (University of Northern Colorado) Partnership is to offer a path towards secondary teaching licensure in math or science for Mines students by providing UNC Professional Teacher Education Program (PTEP) coursework, as part of a Mines degree, online or at the Mines campus to Mines undergraduate students.
