Stephen Nkansah-AmankraAssitant Professor of Community Health
Stephen Nkansah-Amankra obtained his BPharm (Equivalent to PharmD in the US), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Kumasi-Ghana. He later received his both his MA in Demography and his MPH degree from the University of Ghana, Legon-Accra, Ghana. He would go on to obtain a PhD in Health Promotion, Education & Behavior (Minor in Epidemiology) from the University of South Carolina, Columbia. Dr. Nkansah-Amankra has an extensive international public health practice experience in program planning, implementation and evaluation for improved maternal and child health programs, adolescent reproductive health and HIV/AIDS programs. Stephen has a wide range of experiences in working with governmental, non-governmental and International Multilateral and Bilateral aid agencies. In his dissertation research, Dr. Nkansah-Amankra examined disparities in low birth weight and preterm births across neighborhoods of South Carolina using Pregnancy Risk Assessment and Monitoring data, 2000-2003 and 2000 U.S., census data. He has already submitted three manuscripts for publication and two others with the same dataset are in progress. |
