Scholarships

Scholarships available to Nutrition and Dietetics majors, made possible through donations from private donors and alumni, are described below.  You may visit the UNC Office of Financial Aid for a complete listing of undergraduate scholarships. Access to the Universal Scholarship Application, available through Ursa, is open each year from January 1 through March 1.


Florence Fish Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to full-time female students majoring in Dietetics. Junior or senior applicants must have 30 semester hours at UNC with a 3.0 GPA; sophomore applicants must have a 3.2 GPA; and freshman applicants must be in the top 25% of their graduating class. A letter of intent indicating why student wants to be a dietitian must be submitted with the application. A maximum of two awards for freshman and two awards for sophomores are available each year. The number of awards for juniors and seniors is dependent upon the number of qualified applicants.


Mildred Gueck Scholarship

This scholarship is available to full time students in Dietetics. Awards will be made to Colorado resident undergraduates who have at least 30 semester hours at UNC and a minimum GPA of 3.0.


Home Economics in Homemaking Scholarship of Weld County

The purpose of the scholarship is to promote the development of leadership for a junior or senior student attending UNC for use toward the completion of a degree in Dietetics or Nutrition. The qualifications for the award are based on an academic record of 3.0 GPA or higher, leadership ability, professional organization affiliation, and financial need. The successful candidate must be from Weld County.


Rhoda M. Karr Scholarship

This scholarship provides support for graduates of the Roaring Forks RE-1 School District (Roaring Forks High School, Glenwood Springs High School, or Basalt High School) who are declared Dietetics majors at UNC. To be eligible, students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. For in-coming freshmen, GPA during the senior year of high school may be used to meet eligibility criteria.


Carole P. Davis Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to full-time junior or senior dietetics majors currently employed by a UNC Residence Life Dining Services operation who have worked at least 200 hours in dining services and have a satisfactory job evaluation history. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required. Two letters of reference, verification of UNC Residence Life Dining Service employment & statement in 300 words or less regarding future career plans and why deserving of award must accompany application.


Vinnie Scalia Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to undergraduate & graduate students with a GPA of 3.0 or greater who are majoring in nursing, human rehabilitation, dietetics, audiology, gerontology or recreation.
