Is Nursing for You?
Everybody knows that nurses help evaluate, diagnose and treat health problems. Not everybody knows that nursing is a diverse and rewarding discipline that combines compassion with sophisticated health technology. It takes a special kind of person to be a good nurse. If you'd like to help people meet basic health needs, adapt to physical changes, recover from illness and die with dignity, then nursing is definitely a major to explore further. An aptitude for math and science is helpful in this profession, which is in great demand worldwide.
Employment opportunities for graduates with a degree in nursing include becoming a hospital staff nurse, school nurse, community health nurse, home care nurse or emergency service nurse. Graduates may work at a variety of clinical practice sites with clients of all ages. Graduate education in nursing opens many more doors including teaching or opportunities in advanced practice.
