Letter from Coordinator

Dear Prospective Student:

The Master of Science in Nursing program at the University of Northern Colorado has two emphasis areas: Family Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Education. The Nursing Education emphasis also includes a clinical emphasis in chronic illness management. Students have the option of enrolling part time or full time. Please check out our web site for course descriptions and other information, including a link for online application to the Graduate School. Courses are offered in a one day-a-week schedule on Thursday for the FNP students. Courses for the Nursing Education group are all online.

The Education program of study prepares graduates to teach in clinical agencies and in schools of nursing. The graduate courses in nursing prepare nurse educators to manage care for adults with chronic illness and to promote their optimum level of functioning. The program offers students a unique opportunity to explore advanced leadership roles in education, health promotion, and in the management of chronic illness.

Students are admitted to the program in Fall semesters only. Contact the school with questions (970) 351-2293. Please read carefully the information on Health and Safety Requirements, within the school website.

Sincerely,
