Dr. Faye Hummel is a Professor of Nursing and a member of the Graduate Faculty with Doctoral Research Endorsement. She holds a masters degree in Community Health Nursing and a doctorate in Sociology with an emphasis on policy development, social problems and social change. She is certified in Transcultural Nursing. Dr. Hummel teaches Public Health Nursing theory and clinical in the undergraduate program, nursing leadership and issues as well as transcultural nursing in the masters program, and vulnerable and underserved populations in the doctoral program. Dr. Hummel is a visiting professor in Vietnam during the summers and provides ongoing consultation to Vietnamese nursing leaders. She has been chosen by students in the Mortar Board as a Favorite Professor. Dr. Hummel’s research interests include issues with vulnerable and underserved population and global health issues.
