Computer Requirements
All nursing courses require computer and Internet access for students to be able to complete course assignments or activities. Many computer labs are available to students throughout the university. Although students are not required to have computers or Internet access at home most have found these devices helpful. UNC uses the software called Blackboard as the platform for the online supplements for courses.
The following hardware and software are minimum specifications to work with the Blackboard application:
Platform: Windows XP, NT, or ME; MacOS 9 or MacOS X
Hardware: 64 MB of RAM, 1 G of free disk space
Software: Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Reader – latest versions
Browser: Client Browser Configuration Guide
