Research/Areas of Interest

Dr. Snyder's areas of specialization include: emergency and critical care advanced practice nursing, disaster preparedness and response, public health, international health, culture and health, community engagement, and nursing education.

Dr. Snyder's significant and sustained national and international contributions have focused on promoting access to care for rural and under-served populations national and internationally and decreasing barriers to access advanced education for rural nurses.

Dr. Snyder's research focuses on rural and underserved populations, access to care, older adults, transitions of care, prehospital triage, symptom management, complementary and integrative therapies, nursing education, interprofessional education, and nursing history.  She has been instrumental in securing several HRSA grants to promote advanced nursing education in rural environments.
