With a UNC Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services , you can make a difference in the lives of individuals and families. As you pursue the human services degree , you will take courses that provide you with a strong foundation of knowledge and skills applicable to any human service setting, including grant development and administration, applied research and program evaluation, management of organizations, entrepreneurship, service learning, issues in health, nutrition, gerontology, human rehabilitative services, and ethics in the theory and practice of human services.
In addition, you’ll get lots of hands-on experience and real-world contact through internships, practica, and service learning/volunteer activities. You’ll also choose an emphasis area where you will take specialized courses and work with faculty advisors who are focused on the kinds of human services that are of most interest to you. The emphasis areas are Community Health, Gerontology, and Rehabilitative Services.
