How to Apply

The Gerontology program reviews and admits students on a rolling basis, which means you can start any semester you like. We recommend applying at least three months prior to your desired start date to allow time for processing your application and registration for classes. 

The steps below outline the application process to apply for the Master of Arts in Gerontology and the Online Gerontology Graduate Certificate. 

  1. Complete and submit Graduate School Application -- download or apply online
  2. Pay application fee
  3. Request official transcripts
  4. Complete the UNC Letter of Recommendation for Graduate School Form to request two letters of recommendation. (Note: Only one letter of recommendation required for the Certificate application.) 
  5. Complete and submit a Statement of Interest
  6. Submit a current resume

Please submit application materials by email directly to the Graduate School.  Materials sent to the Gerontology program office will not be reviewed.

All application materials must be received before your application will be reviewed.
