Brewing Science Abroad

Upcoming Study Abroad in Summer 2018

Join us in England as we explore the brewing industry of this country.  We are planning to tour the following locations in London, Leeds, Fakenham, Tadcaster, Burton-on-Trent, and Worcester:

  • Bermondsey Beer Mile walking tour
  • London Institute of Brewing and Distilling
  • Fullers Griffin Brewery, Chiswick
  • UBREW London
  • Crisp Malting Company
  • Sam Smith's Pub
  • Northern Monk Microbrewery
  • National Brewery Centre (Burton-on-Trent)
  • Marston's Brewery
  • Stocks Hop Farm
  • St. George Brewery
  • Cotswold Beer Festival (a CAMRA event)

The cost of the trip will cover one meal per day with the faculty and students on the trip, and tuition for CHEM 395 - Brewing Science in England (3cr).  This course will explore brewing practices, beer styles, and the culture around the world's greatest beverage.  The course can be used as an elective in the Brewing Laboratory Sciences minor program.
