School Evaluation Committee

Duties include coordinating the faculty evaluation process.

Graduate committee

Chair: Keenan     Members: McGlaughlin, Schountz
Duties include graduate curriculum, recruitment, applications, fellowships/scholarships, other duties associated with the graduate programs, and assisting the Bio 691 instructor in identifying seminar speakers.

Undergraduate committee

Chair: White     Members: Fisher, Franklin, Sheridan, Thomas
Duties include undergraduate curriculum, recruitment, scholarships, preview days, and other duties associated with our undergraduate programs and students.

Social committee

Chair: Higgins    Members: Jurin, Mondragon, graduate student representative
Duties include planning and implementing social activities, gifts, etc for the department.

Assessment committee

Chair: Reinsvold     Members: Skufca, White
Duties include working with TracDat and other procedures to improve the assessment of our undergraduate and graduate programs.

Website committee

Chair: DeKrey     Members: Skufca
Duties include improving and updating the School website, catalog, public relations, and other forms of advertisement.

  1. 9/25/09 -- SEC discuss NHS college award nominations.
  2. 10/1/09 -- TT faculty in year 2 hand in updated CV.
  3. 10/13/09 -- Sabbatical applications handed in.
  4. 10/15/09 -- T, TT hand in votes for reappointment of TT in year 2.
  5. 10/30/09 -- Faculty discuss sabbatical applications (12:15-1:20).
  6. 10/3/09 -- Faculty input on sabbatical applications handed in.
  7. 11/15/2009 -- Report on last year's sabbatical leave due to Director.
  8. 11/30/09 -- Input on Admin Assts (Cindy and Diana) for mid year eval to Director.
  9. 12/8/09 -- Comprehensive review dossiers and pretenure review dossiers handed in.
  10. 12/13/09 -- T, TT hand in votes for reappointment of TT in year 1.
  11. 12/19/09 -- All faculty submit a notebook with their one page annual report, their FTE distribution for the year (provided by the administrative assistant), a CV, photocopies of all lecture notes and other teaching materials, photocopies of all publications, and photocopies of grant proposals for the calendar year being evaluated.
  12. 1/15/09 -- Discussion of comprehensive review and pretenure review candidates (12:15-1:20).
  13. 1/15/10 -- T, TT input on comprehensive review candidates.
  14. 1/25/10 -- All faculty input on annual evaluations.
  15. 1/26/10 -- SEC and Director discuss annual evaluations.
  16. 2/13/10 -- SEC submits all annual and comprehensive evaluations to Director.
  17. 2/27/10 -- All faculty reappointment input on term faculty.
  18. 2/27/10 -- T, TT hand in votes for reappointment of TT in years 2-6.
  19. 3/1/10 -- Input on Admin Asst (Cindy and Tim) for overall eval.
  20. 3/10/10 -- Input on awarding emeritus faculty status to Director.
  21. 4/28/10 -- Performance plan for Classified to HR.
Evaluation of Director is conducted by the dean's office.
