Volunteer Opportunities

RSVP recruits and interviews interested volunteers; matching their skills, talents, interests, and time availability to appropriate volunteer assignments. Weld County RSVP has agreements with multiple non-profit agencies and civic agencies where volunteers can contribute their time and talents.

Standing Volunteer Opportunities

  • America Reads – Trained reading partners assist and mentor Elementary School children age K-4th grade with reading skills.
  • Bulk Mail Services - Volunteers label, stuff, fold, etc. mailings for civic and non-profit agencies..
  • Grocery Shopping Service - Volunteers fill grocery orders for seniors and handicapped persons Tuesday mornings at the Hillside King Soopers.
  • Medicare Insurance Counseling - Trained volunteers assist seniors with understanding forms, filing claims and appeals, and explaining supplemental insurance policies. Periodic educational seminars are held for the public.
  • Project Connect - Volunteers provide friendly conversation, a way to share interests, and a daily assurance that someone knows that you are doing fine, or may be need of help.
  • SHOP - Seniors Helping Other People - Volunteers construct and install wheelchair ramps and complete minor home repairs for low-income seniors and handicapped individuals. Limited financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

New Volunteer Opportunities

  • City of Greeley Museums needs volunteers for helping with exhibits, special events, museum stores and other areas.
  • Eldergarden needs volunteers to play games and to assist clients with energetic activities.
  • Ft. Lupton Clothing and Food Bank needs volunteers to pack boxes of food and sort clothes.
  • The Highland Early Childhood Center in Ault needs help from 3:00 - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Volunteers will work the reception desk to greet parents as they pick-up their children.
  • Hospice & Palliative Care needs someone to file in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at any time of the day.
  • Knowledge Quest Academy in Milliken needs lunch room volunteers from 10:40 AM to 12:15 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Leanna’s Closet is in need of volunteers to help sort and hang up clothing Monday through Wednesday.
  • Meals on Wheels is in need of volunteers to deliver meals to their clients, especially in Eaton, Johnstown and Windsor.
  • Northern Colorado Medical Center has various volunteer positions open.
  • Senior Resource Services needs volunteer drivers to assist clients with transportation to various destinations, most often medical appointments.
  • United Way is in need of volunteers to help call donors on November 5, 2009 from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the Weld County Training Center.
  • Weld County Area Agency on Aging is in need of volunteers to help with protecting the civil and human rights of Seniors in long-term care facilities.
