Our Mission: To invite adults who are at least 55
to use their life experience, wisdom, and skills
to answer the call of their neighbors in need,
and in doing so, improve the quality of life for
both volunteer and community.
History: RSVP has been evolving for 34 years to meet America's needs. Passed in Congress in 1969 with the Older American's Act, RSVP was established in 1971 to create volunteer opportunities for the senior population, and to be a resource to address community needs. As a locally directed, but federally legislated grant program, RSVP's focus is helping these Americans to find ways to help their communities. Weld County RSVP is locally sponsored by the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.
Service: RSVP recruits and interviews interested volunteers, matching their skills, talents, interests, and time availability to appropriate volunteer assignments. Weld County RSVP has agreements with multiple not-for-profit agencies and civic agencies where volunteers can contribute their time and talents. RSVP also works with organizations to identify meaningful volunteer opportunities in response to specific community needs.
Weld County RSVP manages 6 community service programs that are supported by RSVP Volunteers.
