Local financial aid counselors will provide college-bound students and their families with free professional assistance to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) during College Goal Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Feb. 9 at the University of Northern Colorado's University Center, 2101 10th Ave.
Financial aid staff from UNC and Aims Community College will be available in the computer lab on the lower level of the student center.
The FAFSA must be submitted for a student to receive any type of financial aid, including grants, work study, student loans and many scholarships.
Families are encouraged to bring their 2013 federal tax records if available, or alternatively, 2012 tax returns or 2013 -W-2 forms. UNC's priority deadline for the 2014-15 FAFSA is March 1. Spanish translation will be available.
Free parking will be available in lots at the University Center.
The event is one of 19 sites statewide sponsored by College in Colorado.
