Graduates, current students and faculty of the University of Northern Colorado's School of Theatre Arts and Dance have advanced their careers during the first few months of 2014.

Twenty graduating seniors appeared in the annual New York City Musical Theatre Showcase at the Jerry Orbach Theatre May 18. Performances were given at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. for industry professionals, alumni and friends/family.

Bergin Michaels completed work on Subways, an Indie film, and an episode of Dead of the Night on the Investigation Discovery Channel.

Nikki Tomlinson will appear an episode of the CBS television show Criminal Minds.

Nathan and Christy Harper have both been hired by the Sangrok English World Resort to teach English in Cheonan, South Korea.

Drew Martin has been cast in a new independent film titled Acirema: City of The Damned.

Kari Munson is now the project manager for the Beet Street and Arts Incubator of the Rockies in Fort Collins.

Daniel Dawson was cast in the musical Cats at the La Mirada Theatre in Los Angeles.

Misha Fristensky was cast as an ensemble member at the Utah Shakespeare Festival this summer, appearing in Comedy of Errors and Henry IV Part I.

Sophomore acting major Samual Cheeseman has been accepted into the 2014 summer apprentice program at the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival.

Erica Sweeney appeared in an episode of the CBS TV show Blacklist.

Sky Seals was cast in the Chicago production of Hair running April 26-June 29 at the American Theatre Company.

Alexander Stine was cast in a TV pilot titled "Mysteries of Laura" starring Deborah Messing.

Associate Professor of Theatre Ken Womble conducted a book signing of his next publication Inside Act - How 10 Actors Made it and How You Can Too at the Drama Book Shop in New York City on March 19.

David Grapes, director of the School of Theatre Arts and Dance, served as a session moderator at the annual National Association of Schools of Theatre conference in Chicago March 20-23. Also, he was elected to the board of directors as the chair of the board of directors of the National Ethics Committee.

Molly Fahey will appear in a new indie film from Main Street Productions titled Red Reunion.

Lincoln Hayes has been cast in the 10-minute play festival at HB Studios in New York City in April. He also has joined the Actor's Equity Association..

Tommy Phillips has taken a new position as director of operations at American Movie Company.

Benjamin Abernathy has taken a new position as a follow spot operator at Lx Console Swing at La Soiree in New York City.

Chrissy Bakken has taken a new position as house manager for the Lucid Body House acting studio in New York City.

Alexander Stine has been cast as Brakenbury in the Queens Players production of Richard III at the Secret Theatre in NYC.

Current Musical Theatre major Jesse Jacobsen and alumna Michelle Sergeeff have both been cast in the summer production of Peter Pan at the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse.

Ashley Patin has been hired as a principal troupe member in the 2014 Kids from Wisconsin.

Whitney Hayes is now casting reality TV for HGTV at Orion Entertainment. She continues to work for Manhattan Creative Group, Cirque Innosta and Ghost Orchard Films.

Aaron Todd Spratte's play The Music of Change is being performed from May 9-June 1at the Aurora Fox Theatre in Denver.

Faculty members Mary Schuttler and Gillian McNally have been selected to present a research paper at the International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People conference in Warsaw, Poland in May. They will be accompanied by a number of UNC Theatre Education majors. McNally was honored March 2 by UNC's First-Year Scholars as an influential professor for 2013-14.

Joey Thomas has been cast in the play The Yellow Boat by David Saar for the Coeurage Theatre company of Los Angeles. The production runs from April 19-May 31.

Joey Revier is playing piano and Chandra Nelms is appearing in the cast of Sisters of Swing at the Boulder Dinner Theatre from March 7-May 11.

Scott Foster is back on Broadway in a new edition of Forbidden Broadway: Alive and Kicking.

Chris Ciccarelli filmed a national television commercial for Budweiser in Los Angeles.

Jacob Holt is now a law clerk at Dorsey & Whitney LLP in Denver.

Michael Hammer is in Ashland, Ore., for five weeks participating in the Artisan Exchange Program with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

Zach Shotwell is an acting apprentice at the Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota.

Steffanie Freedoff has been accepted into the MFA program at EAST 15 in London for fall 2014.

Nicole Busson has been accepted into the MFA Scene Painting program at the California Institute of the Arts for fall 2014.

Chris Jones' band Bones Muhroni filmed an episode of the TV show Blood Relatives at the House of Blues in Los Angles. Chris was a guest star on this same series last year. Also in the band is UNC alumnus Crew Renstra.

Aisha Jackson opened Witness Uganda at Harvard's American Repertory Theatre on Feb. 12. Photographs of the production can be found at:

Michael Chapin has taken a new position as the CEO of One.Thing.Wonder and remains the chief marketing officer for GGamer in Denver.

Felicia Nicole is performing in a production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers at the Jesters Dinner Theatre in Denver.

Anne Terze-Schwarz is performing in a concert version of South Pacific at the Lonetree (Colo.) Arts Center.

Matt Hagmeier has taken a new position as the events and education coordinator at the Drama League of New York.

Current UNC musical theatre major Josh Taliafero has been cast in three productions for the 2014 Colorado Shakespeare Festival season in Boulder.

Zach Tkachyk has been cast in the Denver-area production of Big River at the Lone Tree Arts Center. The production runs April 24-May 4.

Venessa Whitney performed with Henson Alternative's Puppet Up! Uncensored at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles.

Francis Corby appeared in a Super Bowl 48 commercial for Squarespace.

Ryan Grassmeyer and Michael Grebe are both appearing in a national commercial for Dodge Durango. Grassmeyer also has a role in the upcoming film Rocket Club - The Movie.

Current student Alec Reimer Parson has been hired as an assistant carpenter for a summer position at the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre in Logan, Utah.

Adam Fontana appeared on an episode of The Carrie Diaries on the CW Network.

Whitney Hayes has a new gig with Cirque Innosta.

Billy Marshall Jr. just filmed an episode of The Following, which will air this season.

David Bryant Johnson has been cast in the Amas Musical Theatre's workshop production of the new musical The Countess of Storyville Feb. 12-14 at The Peter J. Sharp Theatre in New York City.

Ben Burch, Jamie Mills and Tyler Ledon appeared in the southern California premiere of Things to Ruin at the Color and Light Theatre Ensemble in Los Angeles. Burch also recently worked an industrial convention job for Kia Motors.

Morgan Jaquez was accepted into medical school at West Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Anne Toewe, STAD's head of design and technology, has her dissertation on the history of Cirque du Soleil titled "Flowers in the Desert: Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas 1993-2012" accepted for publication by Lap Lambert Publishing. She also has an upcoming journal article on the history of pockets in fashion for the Berg Fashion Library.

William Martinez will be performing in the ABBA Tribute Show at the Theatre in Thousand Oaks, Calif., in August.

Jack Wefso is performing in a production of Orphans at the Edge Theatre in Denver Jan. 17 through Feb. 9.

Mehry Eslaminia has been cast as part of the Denver Center for Performing Art's Colorado New Play Summit this spring.

Molly Evensen performed in an independent feature called Big Trouble in Outer Space and has a small role in the next Hunger Games movie.

Bobbi Goldner has been cast in a video segment featured in "Government Issued Long Johns" for The Athena Project in Denver.

Jessica Lightfoot and Hannah Marie Hines can currently be seen in a short YouTube film titled "Bad Dentist."

Sarah Dutcher, Chelsea Ringer and Alex Campbell have been cast in the upcoming production of Hairspray for the Performance Now Theatre Company at Lakewood Cultural Center March 28 to April 13.

Laura Rahimi Barnes, who writes under the name Laurelin Paige, just signed a new book deal with St. Martin's Press for Inquire Within, due out later this year. On Feb. 2, the final book in her popular "Fixed" trilogy, Forever with You, was No.14 on the New York Times' Bestseller List for fiction e-books and No. 20 on the combined print and e-book fiction list of bestsellers.

Dorian Mapp recorded a radio commercial for Access Media.

Aisha Jackson, who is currently in rehearsals for the new musical, Witness Uganda at the American Repertory Theatre, has been cast at Ti Moune in Once on this Island April 9-May 4 at the Olney Theatre in Olney, Md.

Royce Wood will be joining the cast of Buried Child at The Edge Theatre in Denver in October.

Stephanie Cutrell has been cast in the Roswell Theatre's (NM) production of A Curious Savage.

Madison White has been cast in a production of Almost Maine at the Meta Theatre in LA.

Andy Kelso, who currently plays Harry in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Kinky Boots, will switch to the co-starring role of Charlie Price beginning Jan. 28.

Colin Hardesty has taken a position as the A2 audio engineer on the national tour of Man of La Mancha.

Laurence Curry has been cast in a production of The Whipping Man at the Curious Theatre Company in Denver.
