Professor Earns Award from Federation of Blind

The National Federation of the Blind of Colorado presented Kay Ferrell with the 2007 Ray McGeorge Award in recognition for her service and work in the field of education for the blind.

Ferrell, professor of Special Education and executive director of the National Center on Severe and Sensory Disabilities (formerly the National Center on Low-Incidence Disabilities), was honored at the Colorado federation's 53rd annual convention Oct. 6 in Denver.

The National Federation of the Blind has affiliates in every state and with 50,000 members nationwide is the largest membership organization of blind people in the nation.
