Lynnsey Ooten Garegnani filmed a promotional in-store video for NuTub Bathroom Floor Repair Kit.

Don Gilmore is working as the advance manager for the current Phantom of the Opera national tour.

Adam Fontana is shooting an indie film titled Sal and the Goon.

Jake Mendes and Davey Rosenberg have been cast in a New York City workshop production of a new musical called Hitting the Ground featuring the music of the Violent Femmes.

Shelby Lynn has taken a position as a lighting operator/technician with the Boulder Dinner Theatre.

Rachel Graham and Matt LaFontaine have been cast in the Starkey Entertainment production of Peter Pan at the PACE Center in Parker.

In December, the following UNC alumni were announced as 2013 True West/Ovation Theatre Award winners:

Scott Kruse spent 10 days in Tokyo filming a Toyota automobile commercial for the Japanese car market.

Jason Hamblen has taken a new position as a lighting technician at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.

Isaac Brown has taken a new position with IT for the Entertainment Division of The Walt Disney Corporation in Burbank, Calif.

Brian Watkins' new play My Daughter Keeps Our Hammer is being produced off-Broadway at the Flea Theatre Jan.15-Feb. 15.

Ryan Dinning is appearing at New York City's American Airlines Theatre in Sophie Treadwell's play Machinal. The production, which stars Rebecca Hall, plays through March 2.

Blythe Gruda Lang has joined a Rush tribute band as its vocalist and is playing dates around NYC with the group.

Angela Gabardi has been hired to help facilitate and build a theater program at Dolores High School in Dolores, Colo.

Theatre Professor Shelly Gaza just filmed a national television commercial for Cabela's.

Beth Malone stars in the Public Theatre's critically acclaimed production of Fun Home, which had its run extended for a third time. The world-premiere musical based on the graphic memoir by Alison Bechdel, will now continue through Dec. 15 off-Broadway. .

Billy Marshall appeared in the Judson Theatre (NC) production of Bell Book and Candle.

Erin Schaut is currently appearing in the Chicago production of Cuff Me: The Unauthorized Fifty Shades of Grey Musical Parody.

The southern California professional theatre group 3-D Theatricals, led by T.J. Dawson and Daniel Dawson, were nominated this year for 15 Ovation Awards and came home with five; four for their production of Parade and one for their production of Shrek. This group regularly hires UNC alumni to appear in their productions.

Current theatre major Caylie Kalmbach is appearing in a television commercial for Bel-Rea Institute.

Josh Buscher appeared as the guest bartender on the Nov. 12 edition of the television show Watch What Happens Live on Bravo!

Tim Jarrell was hired as the new sound designer for Wonderbound/Ballet Nouveau Colorado.

Joey Revier and Bryan Cronin were cast in the Boulder Dinner Theatre's upcoming production of Spamalot.

Katie Owsley shot a music video for the Wills/Jozef Pisch-penned Christmas classic "Santa Can Rock," starring country music star Johnny Travis Jr.

Aisha Jackson performed in the Broadway fundraising concert Rockers on Broadway, which over two decades has raised $300,000, with proceeds from 2013's event benefitting The ASCAP Foundation's Children Will Listen Program, The Broadway Dreams Foundation and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Aisha Jackson is in the cast of new Diane Paulus project Witness Uganda at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, Mass. The musical premieres in February before an anticipated Broadway production.

Hollywood film and television actor Greg Germann has completed a number of projects over the past six months. He wrapped work on four feature films - Someone Marry Barry, Quitters, The Gates and Get a Job and also made television appearances on Aim High, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Raising Hope and NCIS.

Ryan Dinning has been cast in his first Broadway production, the Roundabout Theatre Company's treatment of Sophie Treadwell's drama Machinal, which begins previews Dec. 20 at the America Airlines Theatre. He's also working on the development of a new musical titled The Blue Angel and is appearing as a reoccurring character on the television series The Carrie Diaries.

School Director David Grapes will stage his 11th edition of Christmas in the Smokies for Dollywood this fall. Since he started the production in 2003, Dolly Parton's annual Christmas musical has been seen by over one million people.

UNC Acting Professor Ken Womble made a 45-minute presentation titled "Leadership On Stage and Off." for the UNC Alumni College on October 18.

Talia Liccardello's new original one-act comedy Ice Cream Social Issues will be presented at Denver's Vintage Theatre Nov. 15-17.

Don Gilmore is serving as the technical director for the North American tour of Sleeping Beauty.

Duncan Northern has been hired as the production manager for the off-Broadway production of Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1912 in New York City. The producers hope to move the show to a Broadway theater next year.

Aaron Young has been performing aboard cruise ships in a Frankie Valli tribute act called The Unexpected Boys.

Macliesh Day is cast as the Swing in the Chromolume Theatre Company's production of Musical of Musicals the Musical, which will play at the Attic Theatre in Hollywood, Calif. He also completed filming a web episode of Wasteland.

Andrea Romano is hosting a new New York City-based web series called Comedians Teach You Things, featuring members from The Upright Citizen's brigade, The People's Improv Theatre and other regional comedians.

Sam Provenzano has been cast in a production for Mirror Image Arts of Denver. The production will travel to Denver area middle schools and facilitate discussions on the issue of bullying in school.

Andy Kelso, who has been performing in the ensemble of Kinky Boots on Broadway, made his first appearance covering Charlie Price, one the two leading male roles, from Aug. 27-Sept. 3.

Skylar Ely and Virginia Jimenez both served as interns for the recent American Association of Theatre Education Conference in Florida.

Bergin Michaels participated in the staged reading of a new musical called The Bonus Army in New York City.

Natalie Wisener has been cast in the Theaterworks and Two Beans Company's national TYA tour of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

David Grapes, director of the School of Theatre Arts and Dance, had his new musical Simply Simone - The Music of Nina Simone performed at the Kennedy Center's Page to Stage Festival Sept. 2 by members of the Essential Theatre Company of Washington, D.C. The company is planning to stage a full production in June 2014.

Theatre Education Professor Mary Schuttler was named co-chair of the National Coalition for Core Arts Standards in Theatre and Drama. The group plans to release the new voluntary standards in 2014.

Keir Kirkagaard has been cast in the international tour of the musical Barbie Live! playing Danny "Two Step." The tour will be out for one year playing stops in Australia and Southeast Asia. It opens in Singapore in late August.

Jenny Fellner will join the national tour of Wicked on July 1 in Milwaukee, Wisc., playing Nessarose, a role that she played for two years in the Broadway production.

Associate Theatre Professor Anne Toewe completed her doctoral work and was awarded a Ph.D. in Theatre from CU Boulder in May.

New Feelings Time, a sketch comedy group based in Los Angeles featuring UNC theatre alumni Scott Kruse, Kurt Quinn, Keir Kirkegaard, and Erin Watkins, just produced and performed in a video parody that went viral, getting nearly 3 million hits in the first four weeks on their YouTube channel: Also appearing in the video were alumni Abby Ritt and Andi Davis. Un-credited portions of the video have been used by The Today Show and CNN in news stories about the controversial commercial and the inevitable parodies.
