Students, faculty, and the Greeley community are invited to support the Clay Center Community Garden and the local Burmese refugees from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday May 1 at the Kress Cinema & Lounge (817 8th Avenue). To purchase a ticket to this event, sponsored in part by UNC's Anthropology Club, please contact Alexandra Krumtum at (720) 935-0232.
One ticket serves as a direct donation to the Clay Center Community Garden, and includes refreshments along with a screening of the film "Urban Roots." The event will also feature a silent auction to benefit the Creative Community, a group that teaches newly settled refugees sewing skills, helps build relationships in the community and provides space to teach English as their second language.
