UNC Business Students, SBDC to Offer Free Web Development Seminars for Small Businesses March 9

Small business owners in northern Colorado will learn how to create and maintain a business website and how to grow both the site and their audience during free workshops being offered on Saturday, March 9, in Kepner Hall on the University of Northern Colorado campus.

The seminars are a joint project of the Northeast East Central Small Business Development Center, students from UNC's Monfort College of Business, Google and Inuit.

Four free seminars will be offered, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The "Build Your Own Website" seminar is offered at 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The 90-minute seminar will enable small business owners to build a basic, fully functional website and host it for one year, absolutely free.

The "Grow Your Audience & Website" seminar begins at 10:30 a.m. and again at 3:00 p.m. and will help small business owners grow their audience and internet presence through search engine optimization.

Attendees can also choose to attend a lab, where students can provide personalized guidance.

"This is a great way for students at the Monfort College of Business to work with the SBDC and share their knowledge and support small businesses throughout Northern Colorado," said Don Gudmundson, dean of the college. "Our students initiated the idea and worked with Google, Intuit and the SBDC to bring it to life."

Reservations are required and space is limited. For more information or to make a reservation, contact Lisa Drew or Amy Benson at the Northeast East Central Small Business Development Center at 970-352-3661.
