Local financial aid counselors will provide students and their families with free professional assistance to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, which must be submitted for a student to receive any type of financial aid, including grants, work study, student loans and many scholarships.
"College Goal Sunday" will be held 1-3 p.m. Feb. 10, in the computer lab on the lower level of the University Center, intersection of 10th Avenue and 20th Street. Free parking will be available in lots at the University Center. Families are encouraged to bring their 2012 federal tax records if available, or alternatively, 2011 tax returns or 2012 W2 forms. UNC's priority deadline for the 2013-14 FAFSA is March 1. Spanish translation will be available.
The event is one of 16 sites statewide sponsored by College in Colorado. Participants at all locations will be entered into a drawing for scholarships totaling a combined $20,000 and that may be used at any Colorado college or university.
