The University of Northern Colorado Alumni Association is now accepting nominations for its annual Honored Alumni and Service Awards, which recognize the university's most distinguished alumni and friends of the university.
Nominations for the 2013 awards are sought in five categories:
Distinguished Alumnus/a of the Year Award
Bestowed in recognition of exemplary personal and professional achievement in a graduate's or former student's chosen field. Achievement may be manifested through lifelong distinguished achievements or a one-time significant and distinguished achievement.
Distinguished Alumni Service Award
Acknowledges significant contributions of time and talents on behalf of UNC and the Alumni Association by a graduate or former student.
Alumni Spirit Award
Honors a graduate or former student of the last decade for exceptional achievements in career, public service or volunteerism that brings honor to the university.
Distinguished Service Award
Recognizes a former faculty or staff member for outstanding teaching, service or research contributions at UNC.
Distinguished Honorary Alumnus/a of the Year Award
Bestowed upon friends of the university who demonstrate extraordinary dedication to UNC through leadership, vision, creativity, generosity or by increasing UNC's stature and impact in the larger community.
The deadline for nominations is Feb 1.
Recipients of the awards, the highest the Alumni Association bestows, will be honored at a ceremony during UNC's homecoming weekend this fall.
