Graduates, current students and faculty of the University of Northern Colorado's School of Theatre Arts and Dance have advanced their careers during the first months of 2012.

  • Greyson Lewis appears in a new national television commercial running for Kayak.com
  • Lisa Urban has accepted a full-time teaching position in theater at Dakota High School starting fall 2012.
  • Anthony Reimer is appearing Feb. 23-March 11 in Playing Moliere at the World Financial Center Winter Garden Theatre in New York City.
  • Joe Donohoe appeared at Cabaret Ultra Suede in West Hollywood in a cabaret titled Menage a 3 with Declan Bennett and Moxy Phinx.
  • Ryan Dinning completed an East Coast tour of Charlotte's Web.
  • The School of Theatre Arts and Dance hosted over 500 Colorado high school students March 2 for a day of workshops, program/scholarship auditions and a matinee performance of Ragtime - The Musical.
  • School Director David Grapes had one of his production photos from UNC's Tomato Plant Girl published in the February newsletter of Theatre For Young Audiences.
  • Mike Ruckles has been hired as the assistant musical director for a one-night-only performance of The Sound of Music in Carnegie Hall in April. Broadway vets Laura Osnes, BrookeShields and Tony Goldwyn will star.
  • Elyse Porterfield was selected for a national print ad for Nike.
  • Hannah Marie Hines was cast in the Player King Productions staging of Dennis Lehane's play Coronado and in an indie short film titled 7 Days.
  • Erica Sweeney completed a run as Roxie Hart in Chicago at The Little Theatre on the Square in Illinois.
  • Kyle Steffan was cast as Curly in Of Mice and Men at the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center.
  • Andrea Moon, head of the Theatre Studies, just had her play El Viaje de Beatriz published by Dramatic Publishing Company of New York City.
  • Kelli Marino is now a dramaturge for Polarity Theatre Ensemble in Chicago
  • Emily Van Fleet completed the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's production of Duke Energy's Yuletide Celebration and is scheduled this summer to play Janet in Drowsy Chaperone and Fifi in a world premiere called Harry the Great at Creede Repertory Theatre.
  • Hannah Brooks is working as a stage technician at the Lincoln Center in Fort Collins.
  • Derek Hanson appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in a number from Anything Goes with Sutton Foster.
  • Aléna Watters appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in a number from Sister Act.
  • Heather Marie Doris is currently appearing in the Drowsey Chaperone at the Boulder Dinner Theatre.
  • Matt Braver recorded the voice-over track of the math nerd character for a national radio commercial for Wendy's Restaurants that airs in March.
  • Theatre Education Professor Gillian McNally has been accepted to the Engaged Faculty Institute this year as part a cohort of faculty members from northern Colorado and Wyoming focusing on service learning.
  • Jill Redding sang on the Mahler Project that was presented at LA's Disney Concert Hall in February under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel.
  • Megan Koumis has been cast in the Aurora Fox (Denver) production of Xanadu. The show will be performed every weekend in March.
    Greg Germann has been cast as a regular on the Showtime TV Series House of Lies. He also made recent television appearances on Raising Hope, Aim High and Hawaii Five-O. His latest feature film - Here Comes the Boom - is currently in post production and is set for a summer/fall release.
  • Andy Kelso has been cast as Fiyero in the national tour of the hit Broadway musical Wicked. The tour will play Denver's Buell Theatre in April.
  • Pearl Thomas appeared on two segments of the ABC TV series What Would You Do? in January.
  • Darin Burnett has taken a new position as an assistant stage manager for the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
  • Adjunct faculty member Sarah Wigley Johnson and alumni Joey Revier, Patrick Dolan Sawyer and Michelle Sergeef are all appearing in the current production of Anything Goes at the Candlelight Dinner Theatre in Johnstown.
  • Christopher Sergeeff is currently appearing as an ensemble member as well as covering the roles of Pepper and Eddie in the National Equity Tour of Mama Mia. The tour will play the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley on Feb. 12.
  • Theatre Studies Associate Professor Andrea Moon has been asked to present her paper, "Pre-expressive Virtuosity: Significant Intent in the Margins of Aerial" at the PSi#18 Performance, Culture, Industry Conference at the University of Leeds (United Kingdom) in June.
  • Molly Fahey appears in a national commercial for the American Association of Orthodontics and also appears in the finale of ABC's Budweiser Presents: The Big Time.
  • Theatre Education Professor Gillian McNally was selected by The Colorado Department of Education from more than 200 applicants to serve on the Colorado Content Collaborative in Drama.
  • Bobbi Goldner just completed voice-over work for Distortions. The session was also filmed for the reality TV show Making Monsters on the Travel Channel.
  • The 2012 Broadway season opened in January with six UNC alumni appearing on stages on "The Great White Way." They include:Jason Veasey (The Lion King), Derek Hanson (Anything Goes), Alena Watters (Sister Act), Josh Buscher (Priscilla Queen of the Desert), Jenny Fellner (Wicked) and Victoria Matlock (Million Dollar Quartet)
  • Justin Lujan is now the creative director of Theatre at Culver City Academy of Visual and Performing Arts and recently completed filming an internet piece titled Engaged Encounters at http://youtu.be/HdwtSo7CUDw.
  • Duncan Northern has taken a stage management position with Matt Murphy Productions and is the PSM on the national tour of Virtually Me.
  • Jack Wefso just appeared in the Bunport Theatre's Production of Trunks - A Live Comic Book in Denver.
  • Bobbi Goldner is appearing now through Feb. 11 in Dearly Departed at the Spotlight Theatre in Denver.
  • UNC Dance professors Monte and Christy Black were photographed for possible inclusion in NYC photographer Jordan Matter's new book, Dancers in Action. The book is scheduled for publication in early 2013.
  • Berto Martin filmed a commercial for J.C. Penny that will be premiered during the 2012 Oscar telecast.
  • Jason Watson has been cast in the February workshop production of Sense and Sensibility at the Denver Theatre Center. This workshop will be conducted by Broadway director Marcia Milgrom Dodge.
  • Brandon Garegnani has been cast in the Playmakers Rep production of Noises Off. The show, which is being directed by Michael Michetti runs April 4 to April 22.
  • Professor Tom McNally's new acting text book. Acting: The Active Process. was published by Kendall Hunt.
  • Professor Gillian McNally's article, "Fantasy Toward a Greater Understanding of Reality" was published (pp. 14-17) in Incite/Insight.
  • School Director David Grapes had four of his production photographs printed in Gillian McNally's article in Incite/Insight and also supplied all of the photographs used in Tom McNally's new text book.
  • Melissa Kidd, who has worked for the past two seasons as the set costumer on The Closer, will be moving to a spin-off show titled Major Crimes when The Closer wraps production this season.
  • Collen Munch is now an over-hire carpenter at the Denver Center for the Performing arts.
  • Karli Kaiser appeared on an episode of the TV show Reno 911 and will also appear in an upcoming music video for Matthew McConaughey.
  • Megan Van De Hey was named Actress of the Year in the Denver Post's 2011 Ovation Awards. She's been cast in the upcoming production of the musical Chess at the Arvada Center and will appear this summer in the Little Theatre of the Rockies' production of Next to Normal.
  • Travis Shupe has been promoted to EOS operator and assistant lighting designer at Harpo Studios in Chicago.
  • Lynnsey Ooten has been cast in the youth outreach touring productions (Shakespeare-To-Go) of Macbeth and A Midsummer Night's Dream for the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival. She will teach as well as perform.
  • Elyse (Anderson) Porterfield filmed a national commercial for a new IPad to TV program called youtoo. Her TV pilot Drama was shown in a New York Film Festival. In addition, Porterfield has also joined the cast of Pretty Little Liars (ABC Family) as a swim team member.
  • Molly Fahey-Mantoni completed a pilot for a new game show called Everyone Has Their Price. She also can be seen as the print model in the new Oxygen Networks print campaign for their show Jersey Couture.
  • Ben Burch is currently appearing in a regional TV commercial for Toyota of San Diego.
  • David Bryant Johnson has been cast as Danny Zuko in Grease at the Circa 21 Dinner Theatre in Rock Island, IL.
  • Hannah Marie Hines has been cast in the LA premiere of Dennis Lehane's play Coronado.
