Helen Reed

Helen I. Reed has been named dean of University Libraries at the University of Northern Colorado.

Reed, who served as interim dean while a national search was conducted, has 35 years of experience in university library administration, including 20 years as an associate dean of UNC's libraries. Before that she worked in libraries at Duke University and Northwestern University.

She holds a master's in library science degree from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's degree from Allegheny College.

UNC's libraries include the James A. Michener Library, with 1.5 million items in its collections, and the Howard M. Skinner Music Library, which has more than 100,000 scores, books, periodicals and recordings.
