UNC Alumnus Named Colorado Theatre Educator of 2009

University of Northern Colorado alumnus Mark Kolokoff, Greeley Central High School*s Arts Magnet school coordinator, has been named the Senior High Theatre Educator of the Year by the Alliance for Colorado Theatre.

The Alliance for Colorado Theatre provides professional development, standards, advocacy and networking opportunities for theater teachers at all grade levels. The organization also lends its support to professional and community theaters and all others who promote their common interests. With its senior high award, the Alliance has honored the state*s top theater educators for 17 years.

Kolokoff graduated from UNC in 1986 with a degree in Theatre Education. He is beginning his 14th year at GCHS and his 23rd year in District 6. Along with heading the school*s Arts Magnet program, he teaches acting classes, heads Thespian Troupe 657, and provides direction for productions each school year. Students and staff members say he is a warm, caring and dedicated educator who brings a high level of enthusiasm to his work every day.
