The University of Northern Colorado is one of 14 institutions nominated for a national award recognizing its excellence in campus dining services among the country’s restaurants and food service operations.
UNC’s Dining Services is vying for the Restaurant&Institutions magazine’s Ivy Awards. The awards are given across segments of the food industry to operations that demonstrate the highest standards in food, service and overall hospitality. Past winners have nominated their peers for the annual awards since 1971.
More than 130,000 foodservice professionals who subscribe to Restaurant&Institutions may vote for up to six winners among 106 nominees representing sectors such as fine dining, hotels and noncommercial operations. Winners will be announced in May.
UNC’s Dining Services oversees campus dining rooms at Holmes and Tobey–Kendel halls and the University Center Food Court and the Coffee Corners in Kepner, Michener and Turner hall in addition to managing a number of campus retail dining locations such as the UC’s Starbucks, Taco Bell Express, Subway and Einstein Bros. Bagels. Dining Services also provides catering, Athletics concessions, campus vending and the Weld County Nutrition Program.
