UNC Faculty Member to Chair State Committee

Fritz Fischer, who teaches history and history education in the School of History, Philosophy and Political Science, has been selected to serve as co-chair of the 54 member Colorado Model Content Standards Social Studies Review Committee. The Committee is charged by the Colorado Department of Education with updating the K-12 social studies standards in Colorado so that they include 21st century skills. The Colorado State Board of Education is scheduled to adopt revised content standards in December.
