Graduate Music Student Collaborates with Noted Composer

John Stirling Walker, a student in the Masters in Music/Vocal Performance program, is also a frequent collaborator with composer David Conte. Their work "The Homecoming" was commissioned by the vocal ensemble Chanticleer in honor of the 40th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination; an interview with John and Mr. Conte regarding this work will be broadcast on Majora Carter’s new show on National Public Radio "The Promised Land" on Sunday the 18th at 2 pm and Monday the 19th at 9 pm on KCFR 90.5 FM.
